Federal Aviation Authority (FAA)

1. Purpose

The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) of Cross State Line RP is responsible for regulating all aviation activities within the server.

This includes:

  • Pilot licensing
  • Aircraft operation
  • Airspace control
  • Aviation safety

The FAA operates under the oversight of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Enforcement of aviation laws is carried out by the Unified Police Department (UPD).


2. General Principles

All pilots shall:

  • Operate aircraft in a safe and responsible manner
  • Follow all applicable laws and regulations
  • Avoid disrupting roleplay
  • Respect restricted and controlled airspace

Situations not explicitly covered shall be handled using sound judgment and realistic roleplay standards.


3. Pilot Licensing

No person may operate an aircraft without a valid license.

License Types

  • Private Pilot License (PPL)
Authorizes operation of small propeller aircraft
  • Helicopter Rating
Required for all rotary aircraft
  • Jet Rating
Required for all jet-powered aircraft

Licensing Rules

  • Pilots must only operate aircraft they are licensed for
  • Operating without a license is illegal
  • Operating outside your license type is illegal

Licenses are issued through the Flight School under FAA authority.


4. Aircraft Operation

Pilots may only operate:

  • Aircraft they own
  • Aircraft they have explicit permission to use

Operating stolen or unauthorized aircraft is prohibited.


5. Airspace Regulations

5.1 Public Airspace

Public airspace is open for general aviation use, provided all rules are followed.


5.2 Controlled Areas

Controlled areas include:

  • Airports
  • Designated landing zones

Pilots shall:

  • Take off and land in a safe and controlled manner
  • Avoid obstructing other aircraft

5.3 Restricted Airspace

Restricted areas include:

  • Military bases
  • Government facilities
  • Designated restricted zones

Unauthorized entry into restricted airspace is prohibited and may result in enforcement action.


6. General Flight Rules

Pilots shall not:

  • Fly recklessly or dangerously
  • Fly at extremely low altitude over populated areas
  • Interfere with active roleplay scenes
  • Use aircraft in a disruptive or unrealistic manner

7. Roleplay Interference

Aircraft may not be used to gain an unfair advantage in roleplay.

This includes:

  • Observing or scouting active police scenes from the air
  • Following or tracking players from above without RP justification
  • Dropping players into active situations without proper roleplay
  • Using aircraft as a “surveillance advantage” without authorization

8. Use of Aircraft as Weapons

The use of aircraft as weapons is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

  • Ramming vehicles or players
  • Intentional crashes into scenes
  • Any form of kamikaze or destructive behavior

9. Landing Restrictions

Pilots shall only land in appropriate and safe locations.

Landing is prohibited in:

  • Active roleplay scenes
  • Busy public roads
  • Restricted areas without authorization

Unsafe or unrealistic landings may result in enforcement action.


10. Emergency Authority

In the event of an emergency, a pilot may deviate from standard rules when necessary to ensure safety.

Examples include:

  • Engine failure
  • Medical emergencies
  • Forced landings

All actions must remain reasonable and justifiable.


11. Government Aviation

Government aircraft operated by:

  • Unified Police Department (UPD)
  • Unified Emergency & Rescue (UER)

May:

  • Operate within restricted areas
  • Deviate from certain rules when required for official duties

All operations must remain safe and justified.


12. Enforcement

Violations of FAA regulations may result in:

  • Fines
  • License suspension
  • License revocation
  • Aircraft seizure

Enforcement is handled by the Unified Police Department (UPD).

Legal review and licensing decisions are handled by the Department of Justice (DOJ).


13. License Suspension & Revocation

The FAA may suspend or revoke a pilot’s license for:

  • Reckless or dangerous flying
  • Repeated violations
  • Criminal misuse of aircraft

Decisions are made under DOJ oversight.

Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
